What is the VRML Ring?
Virtual Reality Modeling Language 3D World
The VRML Ring consists of websites linked together to form a "Tour" of VRML content sites. Unlike a simple list of links, the VRML Ring will provide a guided tour of the VR websites linked together by the VRML Ring. A visitor using the VRML Ring will visit the websites one by one, or skip a few sites. The links form a chain and eventually the visitor will return to the first link again, as the chain forms a complete loop. Each VRML Ring site will also have a link back to the VRML Ring home page. The VRML file to the right illustrates how the VRML Ring works: (click on each of the globes to link to the first Eight VRML Ring members.)

How do I join the VRML Ring?
The VRML Ring is open to all websites containing VRML embedded files or links to work created using any of the VR builder software. To join VRML Ring, use the button below and follow the instructions. The HTML code to be included in your page will be e-mailed to you and you can just cut and paste it on your page. The VRML Ring button has to be displayed on the page which you have linked to VRML Ring. You may include it as well on your other pages as well. When you join the ring, you first add your site to a queue. You are then given a unique site ID number for your site, which you can use to add whatever html code is necessary for the ring.

Once your site is all ready to go with the proper image links and VRML files, you then ask the VRML Ring manager to add you to the ring.

Sites in the queue do not affect ring operation in any real way. The queue only serves as a temporary storage area for site information while the ring applicant/newcomer makes changes to their homepage. This allows new people to join the ring without ever having any down time where the ring isn't totally operational.
